As fully qualified doctors, you'd think they would take their chosen profession a little more seriously! With scripts from writers such as Bill Oddie, Graeme Garden, John Cleese, Graham Chapman and Jonathan Lynn, Doctor at Large was a huge hit for ITV. One episode - No Ill Feeling! - written by John Cleese and featuring a manic, ill-tempered hotelier, was a prototype for what was to become Basil Fawlty.
