Camille returns to the small island off the Brittany coast where she was born in order to sell her parents' cottage and comes across the diary of a stranger who lived there for just two months. Shifting back to the 1960s, Antoine comes to town to man the lighthouse, only to be shunned by locals who feel the job should have gone to one of them. While he is there he falls for the wife of his co-worker and as tensions build, something is set to snap. A textured old-school drama that borders on the Hitchcockian, shot on location and with a fine cast deftly directed by Philippe Lioret who made the move from the sound department to the director's chair in the early '90s.
