On June 4, 1931, intrepid Australian explorer Sir Hubert Wilkins embarked on an epic expedition to travel beneath the Arctic Circle in a submarine he had leased for just one American dollar, The Nautilus. It was to be the crowning glory of his career, but instead became a tragic failure that would relegate his name to the footnotes of history. Narrated by Sam Neill, this moving documentary, pieced together after two years of research and the retrieval of precious archive footage, tells the story of this flawed grand adventure.
