Dead Man's Shoes
An impressive British thriller from director Shane Meadows who leaves behind the cheerful, Northern working class protagonists of his previous films ('Once Upon A Time in the Midlands', 'Small Time') and explores his dark side with this brutal and vitriolic tale of revenge. Paddy Considine co-wrote the screenplay and is riveting as a former soldier who comes back to his small hometown to deal to the thugs that destroyed his brother's life - and there's no denying he has the skills. A low-key yet savage lapel-grabber that doesn't let go.
