Room
Julie Barker (Cyndi Williams) is tired of her dull life, and in her mind she has haunting repetitive visions of a cavernous room illuminated by a high window. Is she going mad? She rips off the Houston Bingo Palace where she works and heads to New York City in an attempt to escape her ennui. Playing both at Cannes and Sundance this film is more meditation than entertainment, yet has a powerfully hypnotic quality and is a sure-footed debut from writer/director Kyle Henry.
